Overview. More than two decades ago, NAVAIR WD became renowned for our unparalleled expertise in the development and testing of parachute systems. If it uses a parachute, we've probably tested it! Our goal: To keep our Fleet alive! We have expertise in escape system design including concept definition, component level design, producibility, manufacturing, quality assurance and testing, and air vehicle recovery and weapon retardation.
