Thin Film Deposition Tribology Laboratory

The purpose is to research and develop thin-film coatings for use on surfaces that are susceptible to friction and wear. Primary capabilities are pulsed laser deposition, filtered Cathodic Arc deposition; magnetron spuytter deposition of thin-film coatings with accurately controlled chemical, mechanical, friction and wear properties and behavior during wear testing.
