NDE Acoustic Microscopy Research Laboratory

The purpose is to develop advanced, more effective high-resolution micro-NDE materials characterization methods using scanning acoustic microscopy. The laboratory's High Precision Scanning Acoustic Microscope (HIPSAM) utilizes high frequency ultrasonic waves (200 MHz) and high positional scanning resolution on 3 axes to provide precision capabilities for exacting inspection and evaluation tasks.
