Materials Processing Laboratory
Wright-Patterson AFB, OH
The purpose is to research and develop materials processing methods and technologies to make significnat improvements in materials research responsiveness and materials fabrication affordability. Primary capabilities include adaptive methods and advanced sensors for real-time control of material processes ranging from deformation of bulk materials (extrusions and forgings) to deposition of thin films (tribological materials, fiber coatings, superconducting materials, advanced semiconductors involving chemical vapor deposition, laser ablation and molecular beam epitaxy).
