Collaborative Environment and Electronic Whiteboard
TechLink
Collaborator is a patented software product developed by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Division Dahlgren. Collaborator is a Java based thin client that was originally developed for mission planning and situational awareness where available communication bandwidth is limited. Using login security levels and a multi tabbed whiteboard, it provides strict adherence to the Bell-LaPadula model. Each user only accesses information cleared for their security level. Multiple interdependent security level collaborations can exist simultaneously. Any Java applet can be instantiated into the Collaborator environment, like GIS tools, tracks, maps, and education curricula. Because Collaborator is Java based, it has cross platform operability on multiple Microsoft, Linux, and Apple operating systems. Key Advantages Provides an ideal distance/networked educational platform Java based allows maximum flexibility and interoperability Adherence to the Bell-LaPadula security model Very strong intellectual property position
