Fast Flow Fluid Response System

NAVSEA CRANE

Fast Response Fluid Flow Control Valve Nozzle The National Surface Warfare Center's Crane Division has developed a fast response fire sprinkler valve that combines the existing technological benefits of pressurized container-based fire sprinkler systems with that of fixed pipe fire sprinkler systems. Combining this with the virtually unlimited supply of extinguishing material as used in the fixed pipe fire sprinkler systems, we have a novel fire sprinkler valve that can be retrofitted onto existing fire sprinkler systems that will provide rapid response and greater amounts of extinguishing material in emergency situations. Technology Objectives Provide a fast response fluid flow control valve/nozzle for use in high-speed fire protection/suppression systems Provide a fast response fluid flow control valve/nozzle with frangible element that cannot block, to any degree, the flow of the fire extinguishing/supressing materials Provide a fast response fluid flow control valve/nozzle that controls and significantly reduces the hazard introduced by the actuartur into the protected area to break the frangible element
